A little bit about me
A dream in the making…

“I’ve been absolutely terrified every moment of my life and I’ve never let it keep me from doing a single thing that I wanted to do.”~Georgia O’Keefe
Hello and welcome to Books and Bangles! Interested in knowing a bit about me? Well, I am Rachele Hollingsworth and I am a wife and mother; a teacher and a dreamer. My husband is an amazing, hardworking man, and we are the parents of two beautiful boys, aged 11 and 3. I have spent the past 14 years teaching English, writing, and theater at a tiny high school in Southern Illinois. Teaching is my passion. The classroom is my outlet to share my passion for literature and writing and the performing arts. There I feel like I am making a positive impact on this world, one student at a time. Recently I began teaching freshman composition classes at my college Alma Mater.
Never Too Old for a New Passion
In addition to my family and my teaching, I’ve recently discovered a new passion as well. I stumbled into direct sales completely by accident. I was introduced to KEEP Collective as a customer first. Instantly, I fell in love with the sentimentally of the jewelry. Since my day job is all about storytelling, why shouldn’t my side gig do the same?
A Writing Teacher’s Dream
I started this blog as a means to move my small business forward, but in reality it is so much more than that. I have dreamt of being a writer my entire life. “Being published” has always been my ultimate goal. However, somehow life always seems to get in the way. My writing took a back burner to raising a family, building a home, and grading the writing of others.
This blog is a dream, 38 years in the making. Yes, I hope to use it to grow my little business. In addition, it’s also an excuse to sit down each day and put words to paper, like I once promised myself I would many years ago. This blog explores my passions. Here I get to talk about teaching, reading, parenting, and my new sales gig. I get to explore the idea of accessorizing life with knowledge, family, and some beautiful bangles as well. THANK YOU for joining me on this journey.
